Meet The Animals on our Farm/Family Homestead
Genesis 1:26
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.
This is our very first farm. We are building a micro hobby farm. So far, we have chickens, Bunnies, Parrots, dogs and cats. We plan to add a few more animals to our 10 acres micro farm. We will be keeping our animal's together in what is called petty zoo style as they will be for pets only. We do have a plan for the petty zoo but more about that in the future. We have 5 chicken flocks. The Red Barn Coup has 11 hens and no Roosters. The Blue cottage Duplex has 9 hens and no Rooster. In the Silkie Condo Coup we have 7 Silkie hens and 2 Silkies Roosters along with 2 bantam Easter Eggers. Our 4th coup has our Bantam Polish with 1 Frizzle Rooster, 2 Polish Hens and 1 Frizzle Mottled Bantam Cochin hen. The homestead has a cute Bunny Habitat complete with Herb garden beds around it to provide fresh Herbs to the bunnies and our family. We Have 4 dogs on the property, three standard poodles Stella, Moses and Jonah and 1 bichon Rocco and 8 cats Ginger, Fiona, Lola, Bailey, Tigger, Buster, Bizzy and Butchie. This two years has brought death to some of our animals. The death of 8 of our beautiful hens, Cruella, Cher, Dorothy, Itsy Bitsy, Shirley, Blondie, Goldie and Carmen. A predator attacked our 7 baby silkies taking all of their lives, 3 of our parrots Kikki , Jewel and Fabizio (who was 14 years old), two of our beautiful Persian cats Bubbies and Gizzard, one of our beautiful cats that just disappeared and never came home, Tom Tom and lastly the Death of our Beloved Gental Giant Levi our Giant Standard Poodle. He was with us for 1day less than a year. Even with all that darkness we have persevered and have marched forward. God has carried us with his light and love. The addition of more hens, roosters and 2 new Puppies has brought new life and more hustle and bustle on the homestead.
